UW-Stout offers a BFA degree focused on the visual aspects and a BS degree centered on the functional aspects of the design and
development of video games.

Students also have the option of joining the International Game Developers Association (IGDA), whose mission is to  "advance the
careers and enhance the lives of game developers by connecting members with their peers, promoting professional development, and advocating on issues that affect the developer community".

Stout Game Expo

Game Design students showcase their work at the semi-annual Stout Game Expo (SGX), where students, friends, and families come to try out dozens of free games on behalf of the Game Design program. Games are created by freshmen, sophomores, juniors and senior students on a variety of platforms.
