 Erik A. Evensen is an Associate Professor of Design and program director for the MFA in Design. He teaches courses in design drawing, illustration, concept art & visualization, and design research and methodology that support all academic areas within the School of Art and Design. He studied drawing & painting at the University of New Hampshire and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and holds an MFA in Visual Communication Design from Ohio State University.

Prior to entering academia, Professor Evensen spent several years as a graphic designer in the greater Boston area. His comics work includes the graphic novels "The Beast of Wolfe’s Bay" and the Xeric-winning "Gods of Asgard," and anthology stories in the "Ghostbusters" and "Back to the Future" comic series from IDW Publishing. His graphic novels have been featured at the Field Museum of Natural History and the Vesterheim Norwegian-American Museum, and adopted as textbooks at James Madison University, Marshall University, and Gustavus Adolphus College. His varied creative work has been featured online at AV Club, Twitch, Nerdist.com, and Geek & Sundry, and in print in Graphic Design USA and the Washington Post.
